i am thankful of everyone in my life...all that i have.  i try to keep my thoughts & prayers centered on others who need prayers.

FACEBOOK post:   just a usual visit to JavaHouse today (7/25/13)  ... but fire, ambulance, police were called to assist a lady who lost consciousness for a very short time... i hope she is ok ... she was with a very caring group of ladies ... my eyes teared just seeing those men/women in uniform assisting a citizen!!! our taxes at work!!! — feeling safe.

Thomas sisters start at St.Mary's Prayer Shawl Ministry!!!

I am so pleased that we have the beginnings of a 'youth' group starting!!  Renee, Cecelia and Ruth Thomas (& mom, Ann) came to starting 'yarning' for the babies!!  Since they are knitting a baby hat for Mercy Hospital and crocheting two Baptism baby 'blankies'  i used the word 'yarning' (from one of the girl's stories about their little brother's comments!)  

Their mom was relaying their excitement to get started thru emails to me!  

There is nothing better than spending time doing something you love and enjoy with friends who feel as you do!  NEW friends!! 

and welcome to Cheryl who is new to this group, attending for the first time!

even with my BAD back, it feels much better today since i'm in a very delighted frame of mind!!  PT(physical therapy) in the morning so i can start feeling like i should do what i see needing to be done around the house/yard ... (WEEDS!!!)

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for giving me love of needlecrafts to share with others to give to others to comfort them!

feeling better!!! July 6, 2013

Thank God for pain meds!!  i am feeling like a normal person again!  this week has been a 'pain in the back'... literally!  back spasms constantly no matter what position i tried.  a trip to the UICH Internal Med Accute Care clinic Friday fixed it...  i'm on the road to 'calming down' my back...  
 
except the 2 days i didn't go out and put plastic bags over my daylilies proved disasterous!  the 'dear' came and had their midnite snack on my daylilies w/o my invitation!  i just couldn't move, let alone bend over, to go out.  but i rationalize that all they got were a few buds... the roots are intact so there is always next year!!

i received two thank you cards yesterday (friday) at St.Mary's office from recipients of my prayer shawls!!  one lady's husband had coded and Father John was expecting the worst.  Sister Agnes took a prayer shawl to him that i had just taken to the office as his wife said that he was cold from having had his body temp lowered to help his heart.  it helped in their 'warming up' process.  his wife wrote that he had experienced a 'miracle'!!!  he was back in a regular room and doing much better!!!  God's Blessings on them...

spending a quiet morning (& afternoon) on my deck

java on table next to me

Wriggly napping in chair 

or 

nose under the railing watching the street action

laptop plugged in

knitting in hand

loving the gentle breeze

birds singing/talking in park behind

traffic noise increasing

temperature rising, but comfortable

heating pad on my lower back all morning

loosening my back muscles

searching knit baby hat patterns

feeding Wriggly Science Diet treats

watching my potted herbs grow on deck

back to knitting

praying for all service people who have given their lives

so we may have the freedoms we desire

hoping those injured are recovering well

that no more veterans end up homeless and destitute

waiting for Washington, DC concert & fireworks on TV tonight!
